New Federal Trade Secret Law Affects Idaho Employers, Gerald T. Husch and Andrea J. Rosholt
Employers are revising their agreements with employees as a result of the recently enacted federal Defend Trade Secrets Act, or DTSA, of 2016. Those revisions will affect agreements, such as confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, that restrict an employee’s use or disclosure of their employer’s or another’s confidential information or trade secrets.
New OSHA Online Reporting Rule Sparks Debate in High-Risk Industries, Jamie K. Moon
On May 30, OSHA issued a final rule regarding reporting requirements for qualifying industries. The new rule (to be codified at 29 C.F.R. Part 1904) requires certain companies to report workplace injuries and illnesses data online to OSHA. This includes companies in the manufacturing, construction, trucking and farming industries, which are considered high-risk industries where workplace injuries and illnesses are typically more prevalent.
Idaho Water and Natural Resources Legislation Review: 2016
The Legislature adopted three pieces of legislation and a rule designed to facilitate delegation of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the State of Idaho. With these important pieces of legislation and the rule in place, DEQ expects to be able to meet the Legislature's September 1, 2016 deadline for submission of the State's NPDES delegation application to EPA.
