Norman M. Semanko, Moffatt Thomas, Updates North West Property Owners Alliance on Idaho Water Adjudication

Norman M. Semanko, leader of the Moffatt Thomas Water/Environment/Natural Resources practice group, was a guest speaker at the fourth annual North West Property Owners Alliance dinner and action in Coeur d’Alene on March 11, 2017.  Mr. Semanko provided the Alliance with an update on Idaho Water Adjudication.

 

 

North West Property Owners Alliance (“NWPOA”) is a grass roots regional think-tank organization focused on supporting property owners on the issues and challenges facing American North West unincorporated county property owners. NWPOA provides research, holds town hall meetings, and offers commentary on key issues of local and regional public policy pertaining to the preservation of private property owner rights. Norman M SemankoNorman M. Semanko joined Moffatt Thomas as an Attorney of Counsel in 2011, and he was elected partner in 2017. Mr. Semanko leads the firm’s Water/Environment/Natural Resources Law practice group. His extensive experience in water resources issues and his working relationships with members of local, state, and federal government and regulatory agencies further bolsters Moffatt Thomas’s expertise in agricultural law, water rights, environmental law, land use, mining, and public lands.  Mr. Semanko is the outgoing Executive Director for the Idaho Water Users Association, Inc. He has also represented individual clients on water law matters before the Idaho Department of Water Resources, Snake River Basin Adjudication Court, and the Idaho Supreme Court.  He has been an Adjunct Professor at Boise State University, where he taught Natural Resource Law and Environmental Health Law.  He was also an Instructor at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, where he taught Legal Issues in Water Management.
