Idaho Women in Leadership, I-WIL, hosts “A Day at the Capitol”
Idaho Women in Leadership, I-WIL, hosted a special program, “A Day at the Capitol,” on February 6, 2017. The day’s events included a continental breakfast with a bi-partisan group of women elected officials, committee hearings, a group photo with Governor and First Lady on the Capitol steps, tour of the House and Senate Gallery, an educational session: “Legislative 101 – how bills are introduced and become law,” and a lunch and panel discussion with women legislators and business leaders including Senator Cherie Buckner-Webb, Representative Wendy Horman, Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper, Idaho Department of Commerce Director Megan Ronk, and Walmart’s Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations Deborah Herron.
Idaho Women in Leadership (I-WIL) is a bi-partisan initiative which aims to increase the number of women in leadership positions in politics and business in the state of Idaho by offering leadership training series that will inspire women to Step Up, Step Out and Lead.
The I-WIL Executive Board includes C.L. “Butch” Otter, Idaho Governor; Lori Otter, I-WIL CEO, Idaho’s First Lady; Debbie Field, Chairwoman of the Idaho State Board of Correction; Lori Chillingworth, Executive VP, Chief Credit Administrator for Small Business, Zions Bankcorporation; Molly Huskey, Judge, Idaho Court of Appeals.
