Professional Profile
Jon Stenquist has practiced with Moffatt Thomas since early 2003. His previous experience includes working as a litigation attorney for El Paso Corporation, a Houston energy firm, where he litigated commercial contracts and business disputes. Mr. Stenquist also worked as an associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, in Houston, Texas, where his work included the structuring of entity and business transactions.
Mr. Stenquist has represented clients in the areas of general business and employment transactions, litigation, and corporate finance, including the following:
· Defense of financial institutions against claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, and breach of contract.
· Negotiation of combined real estate transactions totaling over $100 million.
· Defense of clients in securities litigation.
· Enforcement, collection, and foreclosure of collateralized debts.
· Preparation of documentation for the purchase, sale and finance of businesses and business assets throughout the state of Idaho.
· Defense of corporate clients against multimillion-dollar IRS audits.
Mr. Stenquist participated in the University of Texas Executive Education Program as a student attorney and worked with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Association as an attorney volunteer. He is also a Board member of The Upper Snake River Valley Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and an officer of the Business Resource Committee of the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce.
