Professional Profile
Benjamin C. Ritchie is an associate in our Idaho Falls office and has been with the firm since 2006. Mr. Ritchie is experienced in all aspects of trial preparation and in various forms of alternative dispute resolutions.
Examples of matters handled include:
· The defense of several equipment manufacturers against claims for exposure to asbestos;
· The defense of several major trucking companies against claims relating to trucking accidents and alleged truth-in-leasing violations;
· The representation of major government contractor in a dispute with a materials supplier; and
· The defense of two major road construction companies against claims of negligent design and construction relating to two major motor vehicle accidents.
Immediately prior to joining Moffatt Thomas, Mr. Ritchie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard T. St. Clair, Judge in the Seventh Judicial District Court of the State of Idaho, Bonneville County. He previously worked for Moffatt Thomas as a summer and research associate from December 2003 to October 2004. He also worked as an extern in the Office of the Chief Counsel, U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office in 2003.
During law school, Mr. Ritchie was an officer in the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity and participated in the McNichols Moot Court Intramural Competition and in the Duberstein National Moot Court Competition, St. John’s University, New York.
Mr. Ritchie is a lifelong resident of Eastern Idaho. He enjoys playing all sports and exploring the outdoors with his wife and three children.
