C. Clayton Gill

Mr. Gill is a business and employment lawyer. His passion and creativity distinguish him from most lawyers. Mr. Gill takes on each of his client's issues as if they were his own. Over the past thirteen years, Mr. Gill has developed a wealth of knowledge in business and employment law, having successfully litigated cases in the areas of commercial contracts, executive employment contracts, buy-sell agreements, non-competes, misappropriation of trade secrets, trademark infringement, wrongful terminations, employment discrimination, wage and hour disputes, ERISA and labor disputes, antitrust, dealer/franchise disputes, and real estate contracts. Mr. Gill utilizes this knowledge and experience in his consultation practice which includes emerging growth companies, entity formation, buy-sell agreements, executive employment contracts, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, employment policy handbooks, trade secret protection policies, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and other intellectual property protection practices. As a business lawyer, Mr. Gill understands the importance of adding value to everything he does for his clients.

Mr. Gill is a frequent lecturer on business and employment law topics. He is also the author of "Things to Consider When Starting Up a Company in Idaho--A Lawyer's Perspective." Mr. Gill's recent presentations on employment law include, "Summary of 2007 Developments in Employment Law," and "Things to Consider Before Terminating Any Employee."

Mr. Gill also regularly advises Rural Development 515 property owners about mortgage prepayment strategies, having successfully prevailed in both quiet title and money damage actions against the federal government because of their refusal to allow early repayment.

Mr. Gill is admitted to practice before all Idaho state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, the Federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar and American Bar Association with a recent appointment by the Idaho Supreme Court to serve on its Civil Rules Advisory Committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Business, Employment, and Litigation Sections and the Idaho State Bar's Employment and Litigation Sections. Mr. Gill is a long-time resident of Idaho and maintains an active role in the community through his participation as past-president of the Friends of Zoo Boise Board of Directors (2 term President) as well as other youth-related programs, including volunteer Co-Chair of the prestigious national Trusted Choice Big I junior golf tournament held in Boise in 2007. Mr. Gill is also a board member of Crane Creek Country Club and an advisory board member of Boise's first business incubator, the WaterCooler.

Mr. Gill graduated with honors from Boise High School in 1987, received a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 1991, and a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School in 1994, graduating cum laude.
